She waits for him
at the gates that stood when even the world crumbled
She sighs
knowing that her own name will soon be forgotten

Where once she carried the weight of the world
now her strength is but the tiniest whisper
A single spark, left to crackle amongst the shades
until all is lost in the endless folds of time

It's getting colder
though she still continues to stand by the gates
She is getting older
and thus her memories must fade...

Angels gather to watch her in these final moments
and they bow their heads as a sign of respect
For even now, as the life leaves her body
Still she continues to wait...

Comets and asteroids are tricky things. They'll burn a hole through your roof
so I hope you like the troposphere singeing your nostrils.

The hardest thing anyone can say

Is admitting when they are afraid

Facing one's self even for the brave

Can be the toughest task on any day

There's a whole wide world waiting to explore

If you could only step beyond your hardwood doors

I admit sometimes that I am scared

Of the uncertainty waiting out there

If you reach down deep and discover the true

Meanings of paranoia it might just scare you

I'm afraid of failure, rejection, denial

I'm scared of walking aimlessly for miles

All my dreams always seem to shatter

It's difficult to conjure new dreams that matter

But everyday that passes us by

Means another chance I
LustHis hands have a habit of finding my hip bones,
trailing his river like fingers along my stone smooth skin,
his lips do not move, his mouth tells me stories.

Mine spend their time
tracing the length and breadth
of his back in kisses*

We travel through lands that never existed
before we touched them
At temperatures far exceeding in Fahrenheit

If only we could understand
how lust and geography
make such divinely sinful bedmates.

Sudden CrueltySudden Cruelty:

He is a God, or so he believes
He judges others and puts them into stereotypes
Asian? No life! Hispanic? Brainless!

He thinks he has control over his world
A delusion which he has never been able to break
Me? I'm better than them, I'm smarter...

He sits alone in his room, ignoring the emptiness
He sits in front of his computer and passes judgement
Lol, you're wrong. You're stupid. Everything is stupid!

He laughs and smiles at his own cruelty;
He feels powerful and most certainly superior to all
But in the end, it's just a fantasy isn't it?

He curls up in his bed, thinking about tomorrow
Here, he's a king, but out

I'm not as I appear

Haunting thoughts would still be here

Stuck inside my head

That conjures up these lines

Thoughts that kill my nights

That's why I write these rhymes

I try retracing streets

But pain is too much to swallow

Like those faded memories

I am a tree becoming hollow

I don't know who I am

But I don't deserve my name

No one listens anyway

So why bother to complain?

The only difference between

Me and the walking dead

Is that I still have a brain

And a heart beating dread

The dead are the lucky ones

Not a care they have in sight

I pulled up to a truck stop on the side of the road

Or at least that's what I remember being told

And as the morning unfolded I saw within view

The sunrise climb higher upon this quiet avenue

I could almost feel the regret of sin building within

I knew I should have stopped that before it could begin

But I must inform sadly I had lost control

I gave her my trust and her purity I stole

I was not ready to be the father of a baby boy

In fact I had planned on moving to the state of Illinois

What annoys me now is how life can change within hours

Or seconds with mistakes that devour my power

Legs and arms primitively jolt in all directions.

Two bodies intertwined via a maternal connection.

Tufts of hair randomly elevated above a glistening scalp.

A speechless room saturated in compassionate but customary doubts.

Squinted eyes adjust to the intrusive artificial light.

An assortment of ardent illustrations vaguely in sight.

A protruding belly with a crimson chord attached.

Conserved  in an amniotic egg instinctively waiting to be hatched

Premature shrills depart from a pair of virginal lungs.

A new unsolicited, unwritten autobiography has just begun

To unfold into an eventful and noteworthy tale.

I am still bewildered how in the end

I turned out differently from all my friends

We don't like the same things anymore

Things I now enjoy they find to be a bore

But I've always been different; this is nothing new

Things that I like are only cherished by a few

But I can't complain when there's no one to blame

Except for me for not being the same

What kills me is how we all grew up similar

A collective bunch of souls all very familiar

With who we were and what we liked

We were all so bright at such great heights

Because when you are kids you make promises

And try to withhold them with such confidence

O sweet array of light and grotesque sounds

Rise up from the ashes and let your symphonies be found

Tambourines will clatter and horns will be heard

The sun will explode and all vision will be blurred

Grueling noises of slicing spleens and cutting throats

Horrid noises of screams from drowning boats

Creatures from your nightmares warp free from your mind

Fears from your haunted pasts are present to unwind

Ugly monsters and evil spirits will invade every church

And nowhere will be safe for even birds to perch

Dancing teapots and writing utensils come to life

Furniture will eat you alive; O what a sight!

If I'd cut my hair a certain way
And cover myself up in that chemical crap you call make-up
But did you ever think that just maybe...
I don't wanna be pretty
That I just wanna be me
Who cares if no one ever calls me beautiful
Who cares if I'm never asked to dance
Hell I don't even know how to dance anyway
I don't care how the world sees me
I only care how I see me
And I think there's nothing wrong with the girl in the mirror
Sure she doesn't smile much but that's cause she's going through hell
Her face may look plain without any make-up
But that's just the way I like it

This reminds me of a piece I wrote about the last man on earth. It has this same meaning, the same type of feel. That "holding your breath" kind of sentiment, like you're standing on a cliff, overlooking a world that has nothing left to give or take. So alone, so small, waiting, anxious almost, to be lost and forgotten with the rest of the turning earth. This is a very lovely summary of that feeling...good job, once more.

God, you got popular fast. Lucky. Also, happy birthday.
